Ji8¸£ÀûÍø's commitment to sustainability, both as an institution and through the development of student-led projects, has been recognised in the annual UK and Ireland Green Gown Awards, run in association with UKRI. The awards, organised by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), celebrate exceptional sustainability initiatives and achievements within the higher education sector.
Ji8¸£ÀûÍø's ELEVATE careers programme, which supports students of Black heritage to achieve their full potential, celebrated an important milestone at an event hosted at its flagship building, the Town House.
Three works by renowned sculptor Charles W.E. Lewis have been donated to Kingston School of Art alongside a bursary from his daughter Madeline Lewis. Mr Lewis taught sculpture at Ji8¸£ÀûÍø's school of art between the 1950s and 1970s and was the first lecturer in this field at the University. His daughter Madeline graduated with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1967 from Kingston and more recently her nephew Oscar Parkinson graduated with a FDip Art and Design in 2019.
Students, staff and the local community came together recently to hear from this year's Ji8¸£ÀûÍø Big Read author, as she took the audience on a journey into the world of algorithms through her non-fiction book, Hello World: How to be Human in the Age of the Machine.
Ten graduates from Kingston School of Art's product and furniture design BA (Hons) course have worked with high-end British furniture retail company Heal's to create products for its flagship store that reflect the evolving needs of the brand's clientele and place a strong emphasis on sustainable design.

In the recently released KEF results for 2023, the University has been assessed as having very high or high engagement in three of the seven perspectives – continuing professional development (CPD) and graduate start-ups, public and community engagement, and research partnerships.
Ji8¸£ÀûÍø early years experts help develop new app to enhance learning for pre-school children
A new app designed to help enhance the learning of children aged three to six has launched after being developed by a team including early years educators from Ji8¸£ÀûÍø.
